Pool Patio Ceiling Repair – Tape Joints Coming Down – Merritt Island
August 31, 2018 By Paul Peck
This Project Blog is about a exterior pool patio ceiling repair on a home in the Indian Bay sub division Merritt Island, FL. This type of problem is very common on exterior ceilings. Over time the paper drywall tape begins to fail. The heat and humidity from the Florida climate and the added moisture in the air around a pool cause the tape to crack and start falling down. Over the years I have perfected the technique and best materials to use on these types of exterior ceilings. 1) Cover and protect the pool/patio deck. 2) We removed all of the paper tape from all of the drywall seams. 3) I like to re secure the drywall at all of the seams, just in case the drywall wasn't secured properly during the drywall installation phase when the home was built. 4) Install fiberglass mesh drywall tape to all of the exposed seams (much more exterior friendly than the drywall paper tape). 5) … [Read More...]

Merritt Island – Wood Siding Repair – Exterior Painting
August 12, 2018 By Paul Peck
This Project Blog is about wood siding repair and exterior repaint on a home in the Diana Shores subdivision Merritt Island, FL. We were contracted to repair a section of the wood siding that had water damage from years of just being in the elements of the harsh Florida climate and then repaint the entire exterior of this Merritt Island home. First task was to remove a 2' x 16' section of the wood siding at the bottom of the north side of the home that had water damage and wood rot. After the rotten section of the siding was removed, we checked the wood framing to see if any of the framing need to be replaced due to water damage. No damage was present on the wood framing or bottom plate. Next, we installed the new section of T-111 wood siding and a piece of pressure treated wood trim at the area where the old siding had to be cut. Knockdown textured ceiling bubbling while painting lanai in Rockledge, Fl.
April 6, 2018 By Paul Peck
Textured patio ceiling bubbling, blistered or falling down? I've seen this issue quite a few times over the years on knockdown, skip trowel, orange peel and popcorn textured exterior drywall ceilings. In this video I'm scraping the areas where the knockdown texture and paint had bubbled. So today while on an complete exterior repaint in Rockledge, Fl. I was painting the first coat of exterior latex paint on the lanai ceiling, when the knockdown texture on the exterior drywall pool patio ceiling started to come off on to my roller nap. The ceiling texture had bubbled in two separate areas. It was as if the texture itself had lost any adhesion and all that was left after peeling the texture off was bare drywall which was dusty just like the back of the texture sheet that I removed. I'm not sure if the ceiling was painted to soon before the knockdown texture had dried completely back … [Read More...]

How to spray popcorn ceiling texture on a drywall ceiling repair
October 3, 2015 By Peck Drywall and Painting
On this popcorn ceiling repair project, I'll demonstrate how to spray and blend popcorn ceiling texture on an actual ceiling repair that had water damage from a roof leak in Merritt Island, Florida. I'll be using my GoPro while shooting the video. This will give you a unique perspective of how I spray and feather and match popcorn ceiling texture with a hopper and compressor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZF2_Lxw649E Prep- After I moved a few things out of the work zone, I covered the floor with 2 mil plastic and in order to contain all of the dust from the ceiling repair and the popcorn ceiling spray texture, I created a plastic bubble going from the ceiling to to the floor by using .31 mil plastic. Next, I scraped back the area of the ceiling where the popcorn texture had the water damage from a roof leak that had occurred while these homeowners were getting a new roof … [Read More...]

The prices at Peck Drywall and Painting are very reasonable. I'm kind of picky but I would give them A's.
I have a stucco home that needed painting and some minor stucco repair. Paul Peck came out to give an estimate in person at my earliest convenience and was very knowledgable and professional. His estimate was competitive with the four other estimates I received and he was able to start the job within a short period of time. He was present each day and his crew is very skilled and courteous. They worked around inclement weather and kept me informed of any issues or schedule adjustments. I am absolutely delighted with the finished result and would not hesitate to recommend this company to other Angie's List members.
Called Pecks right before selling my home. House was 2 years old and had some stucco cracks and fading on outside and picture holes in wall on inside. Got an estimate fast, it was a good price to do everything I wanted and the house looks better than it did when I bought it new once Paul was done. Definitely highly recommend if you need any drywall, painting or repair work completed

Member Comments: The job went very well except for a few delays due to weather. Peck arrived as scheduled and began with a pressure cleaning of the entire house and also pulling the soil back from around the bottom edge of the house to allow for paint application down to the ground level. A 6 foot verticle section of rotted wood trim board was replaced at one of the house corners. A piece of trim board was also added around a window. Both of these trim pieces were installed very well and blended in perfectly with the existing wood trim.
Three coats of paint were applied to the entire house; a sealer coat then 2 top coats. The paint came out beautifully with fine attention to detail. The work site was cleaned up every day.

I want to express my great appreciation for a job very well done when you and your team fixed the badly damaged popcorn ceiling of my condo in Cocoa Beach. I am impressed with the perfection of the job, the professionalism of your team and the great price of the work. Your work is totally consistent with the advertising in your webpage. Definitely, I will call you for my future projects.
"I Highly Recommend Your Company “Peck Drywall & Painting”

We truly appreciate all the hard work that you and your team have put into the beautification of our home. We are so pleased with the results!
At this time 2 neighbors and 1 co-worker will probably be giving you a call for quotes in the near future.
Best regards.
