Cocoa, FL Exterior House Painting Project
On this Cocoa, Florida exterior repaint in Port Saint John we repaired several staircase stucco cracks, damaged stucco from the hurricane shutters and a buckled stucco area at the front entrance of this Cocoa, Fl home. Water had gotten behind the decorative stucco piece and rusted out the wire lathe at the front entrance of this South facing 10 year old home. Which ultimately caused the stucco to buckle and fail in that area. The whole house had chalky and faded paint that we had to deal with by priming all of the surfaces to be painted first, before we could start the exterior house painting. How to skim coat using the paint roller trick
In this Blog video two part series I'll show you how to do the first coat and second skim coats on a wall to get rid of an ugly poorly done knockdown texture. This how to skim coat trick is a great way for anyone from DIYers to contractors to apply a skim coat to drywall and plaster walls or ceilings. Skim Coating to get rid of ugly texture I'll be using the paint roller method with a 1 1/4" roller nap (cover) and I thinned down the all purpose joint compound with water. For skimming I'm using a 14" drywall taping knife and mud pan to smooth out the mud that was applied. Pool Patio Ceiling Repair – Tape Joints Coming Down – Merritt Island
This Project Blog is about a exterior pool patio ceiling repair on a home in the Indian Bay sub division Merritt Island, FL. This type of problem is very common on exterior ceilings. Over time the paper drywall tape begins to fail. The heat and humidity from the Florida climate and the added moisture in the air around a pool cause the tape to crack and start falling down. Water damage drywall repair after washers water hose bursts in Merritt Island
On this Merritt Island water damage drywall repair project I was contacted by the homeowner after their washer water line had leaked in the laundry room. Damaging one wall directly behind the washer and dryer. Since this leak happened in the middle of the night a 24 hour water restoration emergency service company had already come out to remove all of the water damage drywall, insulation and flooring. They also dried out all of the wood framing and tile flooring. Luckily this water was a cleaned up before any mold could start to grow. The damage at this home could've been so much worse. I've seen water lines to washers break with no one home and the whole house get flooded. Interior Painting 8 colors and 1 townhouse in Melbourne,Florida
I just finished up this interior painting project in the Suntree/Viera area of Melbourne. The townhouse is 2200 sq.ft. We painted the entire place: baseboards, casing, crown, stair trim, spindles, all doors, bifolds, ceilings, walls and three accent walls. It was unoccupied and all of the carpeting will be replaced after the painting is completed. We used a local paint manufacturers paint called Richards Paint. They're at the top of my the list when it comes to paint quality in my book. Exterior Painting a short sale home in Palm Bay, Fl
I just finished up this interior and exterior painting project in Palm Bay , Fl. The house was just purchased in a short sale due to foreclosure. The home was 1800 sq.ft with a stucco finish. After pressure washing this Palm Bay home, we repaired all of the staircase stucco cracks, applied a tinted primer to ensure good adhesion, and then applied two coats of Richards Signature Series- satin exterior paint. We also painted the garage floor with an epoxy garage floor paint. Merritt Island – Wood Siding Repair – Exterior Painting
This Project Blog is about wood siding repair and exterior repaint on a home in the Diana Shores subdivision Merritt Island, FL. We were contracted to repair a section of the wood siding that had water damage from years of just being in the elements of the harsh Florida climate and then repaint the entire exterior of this Merritt Island home. First task was to remove a 2' x 16' section of the wood siding at the bottom of the north side of the home that had water damage and wood rot. After the rotten section of the siding was removed, we checked the wood framing to see if any of the framing need to be replaced due to water damage. No damage was present on the wood framing or bottom plate. Next, we installed the new section of T-111 wood siding and a piece of pressure treated wood trim at the area where the old siding had to be cut. Soundproofing an existing wall to help reduce noise from home theater
On this master bedroom and bathroom remodeling project in Merritt Island, FL I'll be adding some sound reduction drywall w/ Green Glue compound and sealant to try and reduce the noise in a master bedroom coming from a home theater entertainment system on the other side of the existing master bedroom wall.
